Microsoft made their console debut with the Xbox. The Xbox was the first game console that we had in my childhood household, so it left a huge impression on me. I've played the first two missions of Halo 2 more times than I can count.
The Xbox featured a hard drive, which allowed for tons of game storage as well as the abilty to copy music CD's to the hard disk! The Xbox also had online capabilities, with the notorious Xbox Live also making its debut in 2002.
If I recall correctly, I re-bought one of these from a goodwill for $10 without cables back in 2016. I don't think you'll find an original xbox for that cheap anymore, but it's still a fairly overlooked and affordable platform these days. I commonly see them at goodwills for around $30 in my area, and the games can still be found in thrift store DVD racks for dirt cheap.
